Now here’s a find – a feature length documentary on a man from Lower Šiška, Ljubljana, called Robert Pešut, better known as Magnifico. A name you should know if you live in Slovenia, since he’s big enough and been around long enough to have his own traditional concert on Christmas Day, in Stožice.
It’s a well-made look at the man and his career at the more brightly coloured end of Slovenia’s pop counter-culture. It also has the benefit – for those readers learning the language – of a clear soundtrack and excellent subtitles in English. The documentary was made by Maja Pavlin, and you can see more of her work here.
