The last two weeks have seen many dates associated with World War II, from Hitler’s visit to Maribor to the founding of the Liberation Front, and to the Walk Around the Wire that culminates on Saturday.
It’s in this context that we’re sharing an interesting map we came across a few weeks ago, produced by Milos Popovic, a Consultant for Columbia University on the Minerva Project that examines the role of culture in the contemporary Sino-American rivalry, who's also interested in ethnic conflicts in the Balkans, as well as producing maps.
We recommend visiting Popovic’s site to see much more of his work, while the map below and in the main image shows various mass concealed graves around the country, with the killings having been carried out by the Yugoslav Partisan Army in 1945 and 1946.
