The border crossings were a flashpoint, because it was here that the Slovenian Territorial Army (TA) needed to take control from the Yugoslav People’s Army (YPA) if the claim to independence was to be credible. This following four pictures show the crossing at Vrtojba, on June 26, 1991, at the arrival of the tanks column of the Yugoslav Army, all were taken by Miško Kranjec (and are shared under CC by 3.0).
