Designed by Primož Jeza, working for the Ljubljana-based firm Donar, the chair was intended as a tribute to Niko Kralj and has caught the eye of jury of the DesignEuropa awards, making it onto the shortlist of four products in the Small and Emerging Companies category.
The awards are organised by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and are intended to highlight excellence in design and design management among Registered Community Design (RCD) holders. The winners will be announced in Warsaw on November 27, where Hartmut Esslinger will also receive recognition for Lifetime Achievement.
Whatever the result, the Nico Less chair has already won considerable acclaim, in the form of Red Dot Award as well as a Green Product Award, and is currently being sold from the design firm’s showroom in Ljubljana, which can be found from the related Facebook page or website.
