Following the reports of two accidents on a highway near Postojna yesterday, another one occurred in the early hours of Friday morning.
At about 4:25 the police was informed that a car crashed into a semi-trailer truck, which stopped at the red light of a highway entrance near Postojna.

The 25-year-old driver and 23-year-old front seat passenger were seriously injured and had to be taken to the University Medical Centre in Ljubljana.

The two back seat passengers (one 17 and the other one 27 years old) were also injured and taken to the Izola General Hospital, while the driver of the car is also undergoing DUI tests.
This is the third accident in 24 hours in the area of the littoral highway. One person lost their life in the other two accidents, and both occurred on the fast lane due to the drivers' not maintaining an appropriate speed or safety distance in relation to the traffic conditions. One of the drivers is facing a fine, the other one criminal indictment.
In case of an accident in which people need medical help or are trapped in a vehicle, call the emergency intervention number at 112, and this will connect you with the fire and ambulance services. In case of material damage only, call the police at 113.
Moreover, keep the safety distance while driving (following the two-second rule) and give way to the emergency vehicles if stuck in a traffic jam.
