According to a report in Monday's edition of the newspaper Večer, a pair of police officers and a trainee from Kranj invited the teen to come along in their van while on patrol in the night to 11 July.
The videos that the teen later posted on her Instagram profile show that she was allowed to drive the van even though she does not have a driver's licence.
What is more, the recordings show that the police officers were drinking spirits and smoking. The teen was also offered a breathalyser, which showed that she was well below limit.
"Everyone on the job is a bit drunk, but I'm being good girl," was the comment she posted on her profile.
Alerted to the post by a police officer, the Kranj Police Department checked the authenticity, and invited the teen for an interview in which she admitted to driving a police van and having a few sips of liquor.
She reported that she was allowed to drive the van on a motorway where she also made the damning recording.
She said that it was the head of the patrol, a 28-year police officer, who invited her to take the wheel, and that she kept driving for about half an hour.
She also incriminated a 33-year-old police officer by saying they stopped by at his home to grab a bottle of pear brandy and a bottle of whiskey, which they gulped down by the morning.
Her police friends brought the teen safe home at around 6 in the morning.
Further inquiries also showed that the patrol - comprising the two police officers and a 20-year-old trainee - misreported on their duties that night, including making up a false story about breathalysing a driver.
The investigation against the trio is ongoing. Apart from grave violations of their duties, they also face criminal charges.
