Brexit talks
"Negotiations with a whiff of infinity": There is a probability that the breakthrough in the marathon negotiations between the EU and UK does not happen before December. The latest EU summit, which was supposed to result in an agreement on the Irish border, had been doomed from the start. (front page, 3)

Employment of foreigners
"Rocky way to foreign workers": Foreign companies in Slovenia which want to employ foreign workforce are complaining about long and complicated administrative procedures for obtaining work permits. (front page, 5, 16)

Local elections
"Phenomenon of former mayors: Old mayors are coming back": More than 70 candidates are running for mayors in the eleven urban municipalities in Slovenia, including nine women. The current mayors in nine of them are seeking re-election. (front page, 2)

National football team coach sacked
"Open search for a new Slovenia coach": Slovenia is looking for a new coach of the men's national football team as Tomaž Kavčič was dismissed yesterday following a dismal start in the UEFA Nations League. A long-term solution could be found after the draw for the Euro 2020 qualifiers in December. (front page, 18)

"An extra day of leave to accompany a child for the first school day": The Supreme Court has ruled that civil servants are eligible for an extra day of paid leave to accompany their first graders on the first day of school. (front page, 2)

Environment
"Saubermacher is said to be closing the composting plant": While a candidate for the mayor of Vrhnika is claiming that the Saubermacher composting plant near the town, which the locals have protested against due to unbearable smell, will close next year its directors says that it will remain open at least through the end of 2019.
