Janša, whose party won the 3 June election, focused in his speech to around 3,000 SDS members and supporters at the Bovec airport on government formation talks after he declined the offer to be nominated a prime minister-designate at this stage on Thursday.
He feels the formation of a six-member centre-left coalition as an alternative to an SDS-led coalition would only mean a continuation of the story seen in the past four years, albeit with an extra three parties, which would make the government even less stable.

Given that the political and economic situation in Slovenia in Europe is expected to become much more demanding, this would not be a good solution, which is why the SDS would prefer another early election.
The SDS won 25 seats in the 90-member National Assembly in the early election, but most parties refuse to build a coalition with Janša so he has not been able to secure a sufficient majority yet.
The meeting of SDS local committees marks the beginning of the two-week party summer camp, held for the 23rd year in a row, in the idyllic alpine valley of Lepena in the Triglav National Park.
Apart from speeches, today's event also features culinary offerings and an entertainment programme with live music.
Held under the motto For Preserving Peace as a Basic Value 100 Years after the First World War, the summer camp provides an opportunity for various activities, trips and hikes in the surrounding mountains.
As is tradition, the event will wrap up with an ascent of Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak.
