STA, 1 February, 2018 - Kazakhstan made it to the quarter-finals of the 2018 UEFA Futsal Euro tournament in Ljubljana by crushing Poland 5:1 in Group B on Thursday, while two-time champions Italy draw with Serbia 1:1 to make things complicated in Group A.
With Poland coming off a draw with Russia two days ago, Kazakhstan needed less than three minutes to take a 1:0 lead, and led by as many as four goals by the end of the first half.Italy meanwhile started their Group A bid by drawing 1:1 with Serbia to make things complicated as the first match in the group two days ago saw hosts Slovenia draw Serbia 2:2.
Both goals were scored in the second half, with Serbia taking the lead in the 30th minute and Italy answering less than three minutes after.Play in both groups will wrap up on Saturday with Kazakhstan taking on Russia and hosts Slovenia playing Italy.
