STA, 3 February, 2018 - Hosts Slovenia beat Italy 2:1 in the last match in Group A of the UEFA Futsal Euro on Saturday in a come from behind win to qualify for the quarter-finals along with Serbia, eliminating the two-time EURO winners.

After both teams drew with Serbia and needing a win to secure the quarter-finals, it was Italy scoring the first goal in the 4th minute as Honorio slid the ball in off a pass from Merlim.

The home fans finally saw their team equalise the score in the 31st minute, as captain Osredkar put the ball in from the far post after a beautiful and precise assist from Fideršek.

The Italians went for all or nothing in the last five minutes, applying the flying goalkeeper in a bid to score a winning goal, but Osredkar stole the ball and scored for Slovenia one minute to go for 2:1.

In the first match of the day, Russia made it to the knock-out round with a 1:1 draw with Kazakhstan, who had already been qualified after beating Poland in Group B two days ago.

Slovenia will play Russia in the quarter-finals on Monday, while Serbia will take on Kazakhstan.
