STA, February 6, 2018 - Portugal and Spain made it to the semi-finals of the UEFA Futsal Euro by beating their respective opponents Azerbaijan and Ukraine on the second quarter-finals day of the tournament in Ljubljana on Tuesday.
Ricardinho scored four and his team mates another four goals as Portugal cruised past Azerbaijan 8:1 to earn a semi-final match with the previous Euro runners-up Russia on Thursday.
The futsal wizard scored the final goal for Portugal from his own half into an empty Azerbaijan net to set a record 21 Futsal EURO goals and secure his team one of the biggest victories in the competition.
The second quarter-final match of the day saw defending Euro champions Spain earn a hard-fought 1:0 win against Ukraine and thus entry to the semi-final match with Kazakhstan, the third-placed team from the 2016 tournament.
It took Spain more than 16 minutes to break the Ukrainians, with Pola being precise from some 13 metres out, hitting the upper right corner of the goal for Spain's 1:0 lead and final score.
