STA, 11 September 2018 - Employers in Slovenia are quite optimistic about hiring in the final quarter of the year, with as many as 20% of them planning to increase their staff. The prospects for hiring in Slovenia are thus among the most promising in the region and the world, the latest survey by temping agency Manpower shows.
STA, 5 September - The total number of people registered as unemployed with Slovenia's Employment Service has dropped again, to 75,920 at the end of August, 0.2% fewer than a month before and 9.4% fewer year-on-year.
STA, 31 August 2018 - Driven by external trade, Slovenia's economy expanded by 3.8% in the second quarter over the same period a year ago, while the seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 4.3% year-on-year and by 0.8% from the previous quarter, the Statistics Office (SURS) reported.

STA, 16 August 2018 - The average monthly gross wage in Slovenia in the first half of the year was EUR 1,658 or 3.6% more than in the same period last year nominally, and 2% higher in real terms. The average net wage was at EUR 1,076, which was 3.1% and 1.5% higher year-on-year in nominal and real terms, respectively.
STA, 10 August 2018 - The biggest problems of young people in Slovenia are unemployment and precarious work forms, the trade union Mladi Plus (Youth Plus) said on Friday ahead of International Youth Day, observed on Sunday. The Labour Ministry said employment of youth remained its priority.

STA, 16 July 2018 - A new collective bargaining agreement for retail workers was signed in Ljubljana on Monday. It stipulates that shops will no longer be open on holidays, bar some exceptions, while Sunday work will be paid more than it is now. Moreover, many employees will see their pay increase next year.
STA, 16 July 2018 - Average pay in Slovenia was at EUR 1,663 gross and EUR 1,078 net in May. The figures were slightly down compared to the month before but an improvement over May 2017, the Statistics Office said on Monday.
STA, 18 June 2018 - The business daily Finance expresses disagreement in Monday's editorial with regard to the inspections announced by the Financial Administration at IT companies, which are believed to be employing large numbers of workers as sole proprietors instead of signing regular labour contracts.
