STA, 9 May 2018 - The head of the biggest faction in the European Parliament, the European People's Party (EPP), is coming to Slovenia on Friday to express support for the three Slovenian members of the group ahead of the June general election. Manfred Weber told the STA he had been invited to Slovenia by the Democrats (SDS).
STA, 6 May 2018 - Prime Minister Miro Cerar met EU Council President Donald Tusk in Ljubljana on Sunday at the start of Tusk's two-day working visit to the country. Addressing the press after the talks, the pair stressed the importance of the European perspective for Western Balkan countries. Tusk praised Slovenia as a success story.
STA, 3 May 2018 - The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a key piece of EU legislation about personal data privacy which enters into force on 25 May, may cause quite a few legal challenges in Slovenia, since the bill aimed at implementing it will not be passed before the election. STA, 4 May 2018 - The Slovenian government has assessed the EU Commission's proposal for the 2021-2027 EU budget framework as ambitious, noting that the overall amount is comparable to the current multi-year budget despite Brexit. It has, however, warned about what it believes are excessive cuts of rural development funds.

STA, 24 April 2018 – The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has ruled that Slovenia had violated the rights to private and family life of a child porn distributor. According to Tuesday's ruling, the Slovenian police violated the man's rights when accessing data on his computer.
