STA, 29 August 2018 - The national motorway company, DARS, reported on Wednesday EUR 64.9m in net profit for the first six months, a 6% year-on-year increase. Revenue also increased by 6% to EUR 225.2m.

It would also like to modernise roads and railways, and gradually redirect cargo transport from roads to railways.

STA, 30 July 2018 - The government has given consent to Luka Koper, the operator of Slovenia's sole maritime port Koper, to build a new mooring for vessels designed to carry wheeled cargo, also called RORO (roll-on/roll-off) ships. The EUR 8.83m investment is expected to be completed in 2021.

STA, 14 June 2018 - The operators of the ports in Slovenia's Koper and China's Ningbo have signed an agreement on cooperation to increase trade between China and central and eastern Europe. Slovenia's Luka Koper thus officially became a part of the China-led initiative for the new Silk Road.
STA, 25 May 2018 - The Slovenian representative at the forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR) in Italy's Catania on Friday noted that the transport network in the countries along the Adriatic and Ionian seas were in dire need for major investments.
STA, 13 May 2018 - Voters upheld the law governing the financing of the railway upgrade between the Koper port and the inland hub Divača in the repeat referendum on Sunday. The government will try to immediately kick-start the project, but the initiator of the referendum plans to appeal the result yet again in order to delay the law until after the election.
