According to Matija Solce, the head of the Floating Castle Festival, a total of 16 venues in, on and around the 11th century castle, will host more than 200 events.
The 6th annual festival will see intimate musical performances, street theatre and puppet shows, creative workshops, circus and acrobat shows, as well as bigger concerts and jam sessions.
The organisers have turned the "castle walls, water springs, trees, boats, halls, carts and domes into 16 magical venues, which will be connected by various light installations, sculptures and travelling processions of large puppets".
A part of the programme will take place in the backyards of houses in the surrounding villages.
The opening day will see performances by women power trio De Ruts, klezmer folk band Santai, Argentine indie folk band Nicolas y Catalina and Czech band Tygroo, which plays drum'n'bass hip hop with a touch of the Balkans.
The highlight of Friday's programme will be Etno Histeria World Orchestra, while the last day will see, among others, Slovenian death metal band Noctiferia playing acoustic covers of their songs, and the Martin Ramoveš Band.
Some of the performers at the Floating Castle Festival will also perform at the PUF festival in Koper next week.
