The families, numbering 19 persons in all, will be accommodated in the integration house in Velenje, most likely by the end of October, the Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants said.
Slovenia committed to accept 40 refugees from Syria and Eritrea and see to their accommodation and integration into Slovenian society.
Four families numbering a total of 21 members arrived in Slovenia in July. They have been accommodated in Maribor.
They all enjoy international protection. Right after being accommodated, the integration process will start, the office said.
"Those aged above 15 will first take a three-month orientation course to get the most basic skills in Slovenian language, culture, customs and rules.
"These early preparations will be only the first step on their path to having an independent life in Slovenia," the office said in a press release.
The office is preparing for the families' arrival in cooperation with the local community and institutions crucial for the refugees' integration.
The Velenje city council has already endorsed the decision to take in Syrian families, up to 30 persons in all.
Persons enjoying international protection have a right to live in Slovenia and have as a rule the same rights as those enjoyed by Slovenian citizens.
Slovenia also committed to accept 567 asylum seekers under an EU relocation scheme designed to help Italy and Greece cope with the migration crisis.
Of these, 253 have arrived in Slovenia and 244 among them have already been granted refugee status.
