STA, 18 October 2018 - Slovenia's open business environment attracts talent, but the challenge is not only attracting talent, it is also keeping it in the country or a company and using its potential, the AmCham Business Breakfast entitled Does Slovenia Have a Talent for Talents? heard on Thursday. 

STA, 17 October 2018 - The Maribor City Council okayed on Tuesday ambitious, EUR 25m worth plans for the slopes of the Pohorje hill that rises above the city. The investments include a renovation of the ski lifts, a midway stop for the cable lift, a new water reservoir, adrenaline park and the acquisition of section not yet operated by the city-owned company Marprom. 

Viktor Orbán is the Prime Minister. 

STA, 17 October 2018 - The government adopted its negotiating position for talks with public sector trade unions, which Public Administration Minister Rudi Medved said would start on Friday.

Visitors from South Korea are the number one tourists to Slovenia from East Asia, a trend that looks likely to continue with the growing presence of television crews from the peninsula working in the country. In addition to Black Knight, which launched earlier this year, in recent weeks the capital has also been shown in Asia in a show that follows the exploits of a K-Pop band, Red Velvet (레드벨벳).

The 2018 ITTF Para World Championships started today in Laško-Celje. The four-day competition will see athletes competing for 21 different singles titles. 

The Youth Summer Olympics are currently taking place in Buenos Aires, and a second young Slovene will now be bringing home a piece of gold, as Lan Tominc finished in first place in the men’s kayak obstacle slalom, followed by China’s Changheng Guan, and with France’s Tom Bouchardon in third. 

STA, 16 October 2018 - The governing council of the Agency for Communications Networks and Services, the national telecoms regulator, has proposed the dismissal of director Tanja Muha due to the controversial awarding of spectrum for experimental next-generation wireless services to the shopping mall operator BTC.
