STA, 9 May 2018 - The electoral commissions across the country have their hands full less than a month before the parliamentary election. Going over the candidate lists, a district commission has found a dead person on one of the lists, while several have been rejected for failing to meet the 35% gender quota.

Four students from St. Stanislav’s Institution: Diocesan Classical Gymnasium, Ljubljana, have won Honourable Mention for their entry in an international student video contest that aims to highlight various issues associated with the world’s growing population.

STA, 9 May 2018 - Researchers of the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS) have confirmed four-decade old presumptions of Nobel Prize laureate Frank Wilczek of the existence of particles other than fermions and bosons. Their achievement is seen as an important step towards the creation of a topological quantum computer. 

STA, 9 May 2018 - The head of the biggest faction in the European Parliament, the European People's Party (EPP), is coming to Slovenia on Friday to express support for the three Slovenian members of the group ahead of the June general election. Manfred Weber told the STA he had been invited to Slovenia by the Democrats (SDS). 

STA, 8 May 2018 - Household appliance maker Gorenje said it received three binding bids by potential strategic partners from Asia by today's deadline. It announced it will reveal more within a week, since it first needs to examine the bids with some of the major shareholders. 

STA, 8 May 2018 - Fresh figures from the Koper and Novo Mesto police departments covering the border areas with Croatia show a significant increase in the number of illegal migrants and asylum seekers, especially this month.
