Videos from four climbs at a relatively quiet but still not too challenging time to make it to the top of Slovenia.

Although Mount Triglav can be climbed at any time of year there are obviously considerable variations in the weather, conditions of the routes, and the clothing, equipment and level of experience needed to reach the summit. The easiest time to climb is when there’s no snow, the dry season, which usually runs from June to October, with the rest of the year being more difficult, and January and February especially so.

What follows are four videos of people climbing in September, to give you some idea of what to expect if going up at this time of year, with the conditions changing from clear skies and bare rock on the summit at the beginning of the month, to thick clouds and snow at the end – although things could always be different this year.

One thing that will certainly be different, if going up in mid-September to mid-October 2018, is that the iconic Aljaž Tower will be missing. It’s being taken down for repairs after 123 years at the summit.
