STA, 29 August 2018 - The presidents of the Marjan Šarec List (LMŠ), Social Democrats (SD), Modern Centre Party (SMC), Alenka Bratušek Party (SAB) and Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) signed a coalition agreement on Wednesday, pledging to work together in a minority government under Marjan Šarec in the period 2018-2022.

STA, 28 August 2018 - Slovenian banks generated EUR 322.9m in pre-tax profit in the first half of the year, a 26.5% year-on-year increase. Profit after taxes was up 25.3% to EUR 295.7m. The total assets of the banking system rose by more than EUR 0.5bn to EUR 38.5bn, shows Banka Slovenije's report released on Tuesday.

STA, 28 August 2018 - Outgoing Interior Minister Vesna Györkös Žnidar has denied Slovenia is systematically sending migrants back to the countries from which they enter Slovenia in an interview with the newspaper Večer, and said they were not denied access to international protection. 

Last week we introduced a new app, Ljubljana by Wheelchair, sponsored by the City of Ljubljana and made by Aljoša Škaper. We were so impressed we got in touch with Aljoša the same day to learn more about the project, but also more about him, and how he recently gained a new perspective on the city. 

STA, 27 August 2018 - The team of ministers that is being put together these days is likely to continue the policies Slovenia has seen in the last four years, analysts Bogomir Kovač and Alem Maksuti have told the STA. But while Kovač expects the new cabinet to be more efficient, Maksuti thinks it will be short-lived.
